UNESCO COMMENDS PRESIDENT JONATHAN'S ADMINISTRATION

Director-General of the United Nations’ Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO, Irina Bokova has commended the Jonathan administration for progressively improving the funding of the education sector.  

 

ASUU STRIKE UPDATE: PRESIDENT JONATHAN MEETS WITH UNION MEMBERS

In a bid to bring a speedy end to the 4-month strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), President Jonathan, on Monday took over the reins of negotiation with the Union. The meeting was said to have started at 2:40pm. A 15-minute recess was taken sometime around 7pm after which the meeting was re-convened. The meeting was said to have continued till early hours of Tuesday morning.

With the ASUU strike nearing 4months, the Union has described allegations that the Federal government will re-open Universities with or without ASUU as a sure way to further complicate an already complicated situation.
