50 Yobe School Girls Rescued, More Missing
Security agencies and officials of the Yobe state government are intensifying efforts to find the remaining missing students of Girls Science Technical College Dapchi, in Yobe state, North East, Nigeria.

On Wednesday night, Yobe state government said fifty out of the nine hundred and twenty six students are still unaccounted for.
But latest information indicates that more students have been found.
The yobe state commissioner of police, C.P.Sunmonu says the girls were not abducted in the first place, rather, they were helped by their teachers to run into the bush to avoid abduction by boko haram terrorists.
Boko haram insurgents on Monday attacked the school, carting away food items and other materials, while the students and teachers fled for their lives.
The school with a student population of nine hundred and twenty six students was initially deserted but later the authorities carried out a census.
The director general press affairs to the state governor, Abdullahi Bego had in a statement made available to ait said the Yobe state government was working with security agencies to ensure the safe return of the girls.
Just hours after the statement, the police reported that 50 of the missing girls have been found, saying some of them actually ran to their homes.
President Muhammadu Buhari had in his twitter handle shared his anguish with all the parents and guardians over the unfortunate incident and directed the military to take charge of the situation.
The president had assured that all necessary steps were being taken to ensure the safe return of the girls
