Adamawa State Raises Alarm Over Flooding

The Adamawa State Government has raised an alarm over poor re-channeling of Wa  Terways By Triacta construction company which brought about flooding in some communities in Mubi.

During a recent inspection of the affected communities commissioner for information and strategy Ahmad Sajoh decried the building along waterways as another major contributing factor led to the recent flooding.

The downpour that lasted for over three hours, filled most of the water channels in Mubi, leading to destruction of some houses as residents fled to safety.

Ahmed Sajo in company of the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, ADSEMA, and the leadership of MUBI conducted a house to house check to provide relief materials to the affected residents.

 SAJO revealed that Adamawa state is currently prone to health hazards as a result of flooding ravaging some communities in the state.

The team pointed also raised alarm over the building of structures on waterways.

Residents of Lokwa, Nasarawa Filin ball in Mubi local government are however want the state government to prevail on Triacta construction company to change the architectural design of the drainages.
