Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar Succeeds His Father As The New Emir Of Gombe
Gombe state governor, Ibrahim Dankwanbo on Friday approved the appointment of Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar as the new emir of Gombe emirate.

He succeeded his late father, Shehu Abubakar who died in a London hospital on May 27.
The new Emir who is the second son of the late monarch was borb on December 17th 1977 in Gombe town, and attended the University of Maiduguri from 2001 to 2005, graduating with a Bachelors degree in political science.
He was presented with a letter of appointment by the Secretary to the Gombe state government, Sule Bage at the Emir's palace, Gombe. Governor Ibrahim Dakwambo, urged the new Emir to emulate the good gesture of his late father by carrying everyone along irrespective of religion or social background. The governor also paid his respect to the new Emir being a traditional titleholder in the emirate. Elder statesmen in the emirate as well as traditional holders gave some words of advice for the new emir.
Ambassador Haruna Garba, Magayakin, Gombe, said, "People should always give our leaders the benefit of being the leaders. They should support them, they should pray for them, they should give them maximum cooperation."
Jamilu Gwamna, Sardaunan, Gombe, said, "My call to all the people of Gombe is to give support and pray for the new Emir to succeed."
