APC Supporters Attack AIT Crew During Kano LG Election
Mixed reactions have continued to trail Saturday’s local government election in Kano state.

Former governor of the state Ibrahim Shekarau says lack of election materials at polling centres and the absence of identifiable returning officers for the election, made the exercise a sham.
But the Kano state governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso and the secretary to the state government, Rabin Bichi told ait that the council polls were satisfactory.
Saturday’s local government in Kano was characterised by several electoral anomalies and in some cases violence was witnessed in some parts of Kano North and Central senatorial zones. In Bichi local government accreditation began at 10am in some polling centers while in Dawakitofa and parts of Fege voting materials were received only at noon.
Yawale Kabiru, said, “We have been here since 7am and still waiting for the voting materials.”
One respondent said, “It is useless to vote because they already know the winner.”
Another respondent said, “They just brought the ballot paper so we are just starting now.”
The unforeseen happened when the crew from AIT visited Gama ward in Nasarawa Local government area and discovered that 18 out of the 20 ballot boxes on display were empty. While speaking with an INEC official on why accreditation started late at Gama Ward he said, that, “After the accreditation we would start voting. The materials are here. We are waiting for the rest of the materials.”
While the interview was ongoing, some APC supporters began to chase the AIT reporters out of the premises and in the process attacked the station’s official vehicle.
The state commissioner of police Adeleru Shina-Baba who visited the scene of the attack few minutes later promised the police would get the culprits arrested and promised to intimate the state APC officials.
