Atiku Arrives Adamawa to a Rousing welcome
The Wazirin Adamawa and the presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), on Saturday arrived Yola, the capital of Adamawa State to a tumultuous crowd consisting of the supporters of virtually all-political parties.
This being his first homecoming since he clinched the PDP's presidential nomination.
Atiku who appeared visibly elated because of the unity of the crowd who put aside their political party difference to welcome him.
The crowd was so much that FAAN officials and security operatives had barricaded entrance into the airport, allowing only selected people to enter.
In what could pass for a heroic welcome, the former Vice President was driven through a long motorcade to his Dougirei residence where he addressed an anxiously waiting mammoth crowd on the need to vote him to power.
Atiku said his Victory at Port Harcourt is the people's own victory and the Northeast.
He said the task is far from over as he urged the electorate to vote for PDP from top to bottom in the 2019 general election
Immediate past chairman of the PDP, Chief Joel Madaki confirmed to newsmen that the crowd was a mixed multitude of members of various political parties.
He also dismissed a claim that President Muhammadu Buhari was more popular in Adamawa, saying, saying such thinkers must be daydreamers.
Several aides of Governor Jibrilla Bindo were cited at the airport and later at Atiku's residence.
Meanwhile, one Sabiu Dahiru arrived Yola on bicycle after cycling for two weeks from Suleja in Niger State in Solidarity to Atiku.
