Codeine Ban: 400 Drug Stores Sealed In Adamawa

The pharmacist council of Nigeria discovered that in Adamawa state some highly ethical and controlled substances were being handled by persons who do not have the training or licence to do so which they say is further endangering the public.

It is as a result 400  premises which include pharmacies and patent medicine shops were sealed in the state for various drug sales related offences.

The pharmacist council say that its enforcement team is in Adamawa state and is covering local government areas ,towns and villages and that no defaulter will be spared as offenders will face the full wrath of the law

The council informed that it has been given marching orders by the national assembly to close down all premises dealing in illegal drug distribution in the country.

North eastern Nigeria is grappling with an increase in drug abuse as occasioned by the insurgency.
