The Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, F-SARS has warned its operatives to adhere to the new rules of engagement or face sanctions.

The new rules which include newly introduced branded uniforms that must be put on by all operatives, handing over of any suspects to civil police for prosecution and strict adherence to anti-robbery and anti-kidnapping operations, will be monitored by the commissioners of police in each state command.
Speaking during a one-day “Train The Trainer” workshop in Calabar, team leader of the committee on overhaul of Federal SARS, ACP Austine Gbaraba, said under the new rules, all the police strike forces in various state commands have been collapsed into Federal SARS.
He asked any citizen with complaints about the operatives to visit the command headquarters of police to see the commissioner of such command in person.
Some citizens who spoke with ait however urged the IGP to give adequate training to the reformed SARS personnel inline with the new rules of engagement.
The federal government recently directed the Inspector General of police Ibrahim Idris, to commence a reform of the special anti-robbery squad due to series of complaints on their activities.
