Former Nigerian Ambassador To USA, USSR, France, Dies

The death has occurred of Ambassador Hamzat Ahmadu, Walin Sokoto. He died at a private hospital in Lagos on Sunday, aged 92.
"He was an accomplished diplomat who distinguished himself in his chosen specialties. As an elder statesman, his wise counsels served both the older and younger generation of leaders not only in Sokoto, but in Nigeria as a whole," a statement issued from the Governor's office by Malam Imam Imam, quoted Tambuwal as saying.
The funeral prayer for the deceased will be performed Monday morning at 10.00am at the Sultan's Palace, in Sokoto, according to Islamic rites.
