Forum Urges National Assembly To Pass Law On Smooth Transfer Of Power

Director General of Save Democracy Today, Ifedi Okwenna made the call in Abuja on Monday. The Bill, before the National Assembly is expected to promote the orderly Transition of Power in connection with the Expiration of the Term of Office of a President and the Inauguration of A New President.

There are fears however that the Law may not come to fruition as the tenure of the current Legislature will lapse in 2019.

Participants at a Workshop in Abuja are of the belief that the Coalition of Political Parties should act as Pressure Group on the National Assembly for its Quick Passage.

The proposed Law seeks to find a Legal Framework, for the Transition Period
