Health Minister Confirms That Nigerian Doctor Has Ebola
The Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu on Monday in Abuja, made this disclosure as he confirmed that the doctor was the one who handled the case of the Liberian, Patrick Sawyer who died in Lagos after collapsing at the airport on arrival in Nigeria.

The Nigerian female doctor whose identity was not disclosed is now the first Nigerian confirmed case of the Ebola virus making it the fourth West African country since the outbreak in Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia.
Onyebuchi Chukwu, said, “This second case is one of the doctors that attend to the one that is dead.
“So one of them unfortunately is having Ebola now, so we are managing her. Three others, I think two doctors and a nurse are showing symptoms.”
The question on the lips of many is how many persons the Nigerian doctor now confirmed with the Ebola virus came in contact with, before the purported isolation with all those who came in contact with the Liberian victim.
Onyebuchi Chukwu, said, “I just want to use the opportunity to announce that, we are doing everything, I just spoke with the President and he is as concerned as we are and has directed me to take the necessary measures.”
With this development, doctors now appears to be at most risk of contracting the virus after two American doctors in Liberia tested positive and have been flown back to the US for special medical care. Another doctor in Sierra Leone died recently from the virus.
Onyebuchi Chukwu also confirmed two doctors and a nurse from the same hospital have shown signs of Ebola but too early to confirm.
