ILO Recommends Social Security System For Nigerian Workers
The international labour organisation, ILO, wants Nigeria to pursue and explore social security for her workforce in order to enhance the provision of decent jobs.

In a message to the fortieth anniversary celebration of the Nigeria labour congress director general of the ILO, guy Ryder said Nigeria must ensure that the informal sector is fully integrated into any form of social security it chooses to implement.
It was the second day of events marking the forty years anniversary of the Nigeria labour congress and labour leaders and well wishers took the stage to reflect and project on the future of workers in the country.
The ILO deputy director general who led other discussants on the future of workers insisted that the provision of social security is essential to enhancing working conditions and living standards of the people.
The forum argued that there was need for government, employers and labour to use social dialogue to resolve agitations and for labour to actively participate in party politics.
