INEC To Leverage On 2019 Polls For Bayelsa, Kogi Governorship Elections
The National Commissioner, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in charge of the North Central and Kaduna, Professor Antonia Simbine says the commission is leveraging on the outcome of the 2019 general elections in order to conduct hitch-free polls in Kogi and Bayelsa states in November this year.

Professor Simbine who spoke at the post-2019 general election review meeting in Kaduna said INEC is working round the clock to ensure the process and outcome of future elections are credible.
The post-election review meeting of the North-West zone assessed the process, challenges, and outcome of the 2019 general elections in order to address grey areas for future elections.
Professor Antonia Simbine said the review is aimed at planning ahead for subsequent elections.
Professor Simbine said, the fact that litigations are not challenging the process of the elections is proof that the elections were successful.
Participants at the meeting want INEC to be decisive in dealing with electoral offenders so as to prevent future disruption of elections.
The post-2019 election review meeting covers 14 critical areas which bother on election security, the election process, recruitment and training, voter education, PVCs collection, among others.
