Jonathan On Sheriff
Goodluck Jonathan, Ali Modu Sherif
Former president Goodluck Jonathan says he never endorsed senator Ali Modu sheriff as the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party when he visited him at his resident in Abuja on Tuesday.
A section of the media had reported the former president endorsed Ali Modu sheriff as party chairman.
A statement by Jonathan’s media aide, Ikechukwu Eze said the claim was false, as issue of endorsement never came up in the course of the visit neither in the closed-door engagement nor during Jonathan’s interview with newsmen.
The statement further stated that former president Jonathan received sheriff and some of his supporters just like he did to Makarfi, in line with a mediation role he is playing towards unifying and strengthening the PDP.
