Nasarawa Gas Explosion Kills 40
Over 40 people have been confirmed killed in a gas explosion that rocked the Nasarawa state capital, Lafia, early on Monday.

Scores of others were injured, while many with severe burns were taken to the hospital.
The incident, according to reports, occurred at a fuel station along Akwanga/Makurdi road just outside the metropolis.
The resultant inferno destroyed private properties and vehicles.
The explosion was believed to have been caused by a leakage in one of the gas tankers packed at the depot.
The Nasarawa state deputy governor, Silas Agara who visited the scene, expressed sadness at the development.
The deputy Governor said an investigation will be conducted to establish the cause of the incident so as to prevent a possible recurrence.
