NDDC Tasks Contractors To Brace Up Or Risk Termination
Banks and contractors doing business with the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC have been told to brace up or risk termination of their contracts.

The Executive Director, Projects, Tuoyo Omatsuli gave the warning after inspecting some NDDC projects in Rivers state.
Project inspected by the NDDC director in charge of project and his delegation include the permanent site of the NDDC state office at the Olu Obasanjo road in Port Harcourt and the 15th floor new NDDC headquarters. Other projects are the prototype hostels at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, the University of Port Harcourt and the Niger Delta Specialist Regional Hospital all in the Port Harcourt metropolis.
Tuonyo Omatsuli, ED projects NDDC said, “From what I have seen so far I am not pleased, I am not happy, because we cannot continue like this. This is the kind of things we want to change. This building is meant for students, they are hostels for them to occupy. After the commissioning, we are going to hand it over to the students and if the standard is poor it will deteriorate in a short while. That is why I am not happy.”
He said banks and contractors need to guard their loins as the Commission is ready to stop all those contributing to the delays in the completion of development projects in the region.
He further said, “We can’t be encouraged. I have told the contractors that by seeing this kind of work, we can’t be encouraged to give him another job if he so desires. So I am taking that as a warning to other contractors, you have to brace up and raise your standard.”
At the Elioso Elingbo road, which has two bridges, the NDDC Executive Director regretted that the poor set of road was giving a Commission a bad image. He therefore called for the job to be reassigned to a more competent contractor.
