Niger Delta Activists Call For Equity, Fairness And Justice
The development of Nigeria’s Niger Delta region can only be achieved within the context of equity, fairness and justice.

Governor Seriake Dickson made this remark at a colloquium to mark the 2014 Isaac Boro Day celebration in Yenagoa. Rights activists Annkio Briggs and Joseph Evah also raised the need for resource control at the event.
Annkio Briggs, Rights Activist said, “We want of own every single drop of our resources in our land. We want to own every inch of our land and then pay whatever tax we and the federal government agree that should be paid to the federal government.
“Then we truly have been able to honour Adaka Boro.”
Speaking on true federalism, Bayelsa Governor Seriake Dickson called for fairness and an egalitarian state.
“We hope that at the end of the ongoing National Conference, a just, equitable, stable and egalitarian Nigeria in accordance with our founding principles as a true federal entity will emanate from that Conference.”
General Alani Akinrinade, (Rtd.), said, “If you want to make a road in Bayelsa State is hundred times what you are going to make in my own state in Osun. That is the reality of the situation. If God blessed them with oil under their land, they certainly why don’t we use it to their benefit.”
Felix Tuodolo, Commissioner of Culture and Ijaw National Affairs, said, “He is a governor that has the Ijaw people at heart. In fact he is following the footsteps of Isaac Boro. No wonder the people of Kolokumo named him Adaka the second.”
The remains of Isaac Boro was reburied in the Ijaw National Memorial Hero’s park in Yenagoa.
