1 year ago / Sports

The battle for the 2015/2016 Nigeria professional football league title may be clearly a two horse race but the quest for survival seems tougher.

To escape from relegation, four teams are involved in the battle for the two remaining spots in the league as both, Giwa fc and Ikorodu united have been confirmed relegated.

The remaining two spots left will be contested among fifteenth placed Abia warriors who have forty five points, heartland of Owerri, MFM fc and Warri wolves.

Abia warriors will face shooting stars of Ibadan on Sunday in the last round of matches. MFM fc host fc Ifeanyi Ubah who are seeking continental ticket while Warri wolves face already relegated Ikorudu united.

Heartland of Owerri will need an outright win in Jos against plateau united. The Nazi millionaires have never been relegated since the club was founded as Spartans of Owerri in 1976.

Africa Independent Television, AIT will transmit the last match between league leaders, rangers international of Enugu and el-kanemi warriors live from 3.30pm on Sunday
