At the Onopa, Yenagoa local government INEC office, where hundreds swarmed in the hope of getting their PVC's, some expressed the view that three days would make no difference, after struggling to get it for many years without success.
The once quiet road leading to the INEC, Yenagoa local government office in the Bayelsa state capital witnessed unusual heavy traffic of people, making a last-ditch attempt to collect their permanent voter's cards ahead of the general elections.
Under the burning February sun, they swarmed the premises, with the hope of getting their PVC's, which for the fainthearted would take a miracle.
At the PVC collection centre, rowdiness was a normal affair, occasional pushing and shoving on the queue.
Even the news of an extension of the deadline by INEC did not offer much comfort.
According to the Bayelsa state INEC, out of the one million, thirty-six thousand, four hundred and forty-two persons registered, twenty per cent are yet to collect their voter's card.
