Troops Neutralize More Bandits In Zamfara, One Soldier Killed
Seven bandits have been neutralized and one soldier killed in a fierce encounter between troops of Operation Sharan Daji, Harbin Kunama 111 in conjunction with the Nigerian Army deep blue special forces, the Nigerian Air Force, vigilantes, and armed bandits during a clearance operation by troops in Aljumana Fulani and Ketere villages in Zamfara state.

According to the Assistant Director Army Public Relations, Major Clement Kabiade, troops on patrol to Kara market in Shinkafi local government area of Zamfara state arrested a suspected informant who provides information to armed bandits in the area.
The arrest led to the bursting of three suspected informants who are currently undergoing investigation with the prosecuting security agencies.
The troops recovered 934 rounds of 7.62mm, (NATO), one ak47 rifle, one steel chain used by bandits to restrain kidnapped victims and seven motorcycles.
According to the statement, bandits who were armed with sophisticated automatic weapons were overpowered by the superior firepower of the troops, thereby compelling the survivors among them to flee with gun wounds, abandoning their camp and logistics which were destroyed by the troops.
Six soldiers and vigilantes who sustained various degrees of injuries were evacuated for medical attention.
The Force Commander, Major General Hakeem Otiki commiserated with the family and relations of the late soldier, adding that his sacrifice will not be in vain.
