The sensitisation exercise which brought out women representatives from across the eighteen local government areas of the state was climaxed with the opening of the Cross River Women Emancipation Initiative (CROWEI) office.
The governor and his wife, Linda while urging those who are yet to register to do so before the deadline, described women as important stakeholders in any political success story, assuring that his government will continue to support them.
The state commissioner for women affairs, Stella Odey, and CROWEI chairperson, Lawrencia Ita said the essence of the walk was to create more awareness for voter registration, collection and mobilize support for Ayade's re-election bid for 2019.
The women were asked to go back to their various LGA'S to sensitize more people on the need to utilize the window period given by INEC to ensure they are registered to enable them vote before the deadline.
